Website Updates

As the year comes nearer to its end, I felt it was time to finally make a few more adjustments to the website. After a stressful day, I've finally finished, and I couldn't be happier.

First things first, the Facebook feed on the side of the page inexplicably stopped working a few months ago, and it was on my to-do list for quite some time to get it working again. As it turns out, the third party software I was using to extract the information from Facebook must have disabled my account. As a result, I decided it was high time to connect to the feed directly through Facebook themselves. This has proven quite successful and, in the future, I may look into styling it a little better. For now, however, it will do.

Second on my list was to fix the layout on the book pages. It was bugging me for a while, but I'd never had the energy to actually do something about it. "It'll do" I'd say to myself, deep down knowing that I wasn't happy with it. It's just a few minor changes if I'm honest, but I feel that it suits the site a bit better.

Finally, the biggest update I've performed in quite some time (probably since the restructure): Full Facebook integration. That's right, you can comment directly on news articles and books with your Facebook account. The old options to "Recommend" pages are still available (through Twitter as well, they're not being forgotten!), but using the new commenting section, you can share your comments directly to your wall.

I'm really happy with how the site is looking now, and with a few other projects that I've had finally put aside, I'm going to be devoting some time to editing Tarlos. My hopes of getting it out by Christmas are pretty much gone, but I'll do my best anyway! Thankyou to everyone that's been reading, reviewing, and sharing, and I look forward to the new year!
